I would be disappointed if he did. Very unlikely though, Steve seems to be a great guy and very aware of things like that.

I know it's pointless, but I can't help wishing he'd taken better care of himself.

Has it been two years since I saw them? Damn, time flies but thank gawd my friends invited me out to CA to see them. I'd never had the opportunity to catch them before (and little did I know, never would again). It was a raucous show. My camera did not survive. And man, was it good to be back in a good old fashioned mosh pit full of sweat, bumps, bruises and folks singing at the top of their collective lungs.

Actually, I thought the 4 Men pressing was pretty good - better than my US original. But the new one has so much better separation. Sounds more like the master tape would sound.

My purple vinyl doesn't look that purpleish though.

As an American I have never heard of this person or their band. 63 years old is a pretty good age to make.

I assume you're from the 19th century? What news of the Civil War?

"Pretty good" sounds about right for the 4MWB (which I'd bet is 16/44 digital although the label tends to be evasive about sources), but I've seen lots of reports that the UK original is terrific, and I'm hoping this one is too, like you say. Plus the booklet seems cool too.

They're sort of like the Fine Young Cannibals of power punk.

I just listened to both Homosapien and XL1 the other night. I posted the former's buried treasure "In Love With Somebody Else" in this thread several months ago but the song has become one of my all time favorites of his since. It reminds me of David Bowie and The Kinks- many a band/artist has been compared to those two but few had the songwriting chops to match 'em. Pete, at his best which is many a song, did. :)

As an American I saw them headline the Burger Boogaloo in California two years back and been a fan since I was a kid in the 80s.

Check 'em out if you like punk. And even if you don't.

Wow, you must live in an extremely impoverished location to think that living up to 63 is a good innings.

Have Steve and others actually played as the Buzzcocks recently?

Looks like they played a gig in Barcelona in August.

Very interesting. Here's a live performance of The Buzzcocks dated as September 2019. You don't see much of the other guitarist in this footage.

Oh no, terribly sad news, indeed.

Rest in peace and thank you Mr. Shelley.
