Yep, just keep checking the used CD bins at your local store. It took me a couple of years but I collected all the original masterings after awhile.

 

I have one of the "Chinese" ones:

It is true that these do NOT have the "movable" window backgrounds on "Graffiti" and the "moving wheel" inside the cover of III.

But the "rest" is genuine,the SHMs are genuine,and the sound is just fantastic....

I do not care a monkey's about movable window backgrounds or wheels or any gimmicks like those,but the price difference is in the region of USD$ 250.- compared with a genuine SHM box(if you can find one....!!).

As I do not intend to sell my item I am not concerned with its "resale value" at all.

So what??

As long as you know what you are buying my ears are completely clogged to the arguments of all those bigots here...

 

Why such hostility? No one here criticized you personally. A couple of us simply pointed out that the posted link was probably a counterfeit since there are a lot of such fakes coming out of China these days.

If you find the folks here so disagreeable, why hang out here?

 

How is what was said possibly bigoted? If there's any angst to be expressed in the discussion it should be that the material in question is illicit and illegal and the artists involved aren't getting a single dime. The money paid for these counterfeit sets is probably winding up in the hands of organized crime. Or are your ears completely clogged to that argument as well?

Yep, counterfeits are so wrong.

I would never buy fake stuff. As music lover and collector its just essential and necessary to support music-makers and buy real authentic records, cd:s, boxsets etc..

 

Yea, the whole point of SHMs is the technology used to make them sound better. I highly doubt that whatever Chinese schlock shop these came out of, has the neccessary manufacturing equipment to replicate SHMs (or Blu-specs, for that matter).

 

I would give my left pinkie fingernail for a SACD 5.1 Box Set.

 

Unfortunately, I think you'll be trimming that fingernail for many years to come.
