    Hi all!

We all know there's the great 50th anniversary thread, and the live poll, but I think this deserves a separate thread

If we look close at the last pic (3CD set), it seems it's a plain reissue, with no bonus tracks added.
Really hope at least it's a new and NON brickwalled mastering

If there are no new tracks then I'll probably wait & see what else is coming out.

I'm one of the few people who loves the 2003 HTWWW as it is.

The original 2003 3CD set had only DR7, whereas the famous 5.1 to stereo downmix DVD-A had DR12

I bought the 2003 set because, I liked it well enough then and still do.

For that reason, even though I'd prefer a much less compressed song presentation, I'll probably stick with it rather than spend lots of money on the new versions.

Well, God bless 'em for releasing the Blu-ray audio separate from the Deluxe package. That's the one I'm going to get, assuming it's not DR 6.

Here's hoping Mr. Davis provided us a brilliant new mastering (and that the BR-Audio is 24/96 or higher)!

Really, people don't like that old release? It's one of my favorite live albums and the sonics of the 2003 version are just fine to me.

must be a typo that the super deluxe would have a dvd not blu ray? wasn't the original release over two dvds anyways so it would need to be blu ray to be only one disc?

I'm going to jump to the conclusion that it's the mixes that'll be on the Blu-ray edition, but that's just my speculation

Well, the original release was pretty loud and compressed. He fixed BBC Sessions in 2016. Might as well fix this one too.

Now can he please do the same with TSRTS!

I don't tend to be as discriminating as many on this board when it comes to "loud" masterings, but in my opinion the original is just about pushing my limits. More than a remaster, I'd like to see an expanded version with full Whole lotta Love medley and the missing Thank You and Tangerine tracks.

As much as I like their studio albums nothing beats that "immigrant song" version. What a way to start a show, what a bomb of a track!

Hmm, well, I never really noticed it being so terribly mastered. The full versions would be awesome, you're absolutely right! :righton:

Going To California and Bron-Y-Aur Stomp also beats the studio versions IMO.

Ok, we all knew this release was coming this year yeah?

I have to say, color me disappointed that there is no companion disc, when one could have been assembled easily from alternate LA or LB tracks.

John Buchanan I'm just a headphone kind of fellow. Stax Sigma

If the 3CD set is uncompressed, and the blu-ray is also, it might be the latter or both. I'm guessing a Davis remaster might be what happens to the sound.

I like the DVD-Audio mastering for stereo, hopefully the Blu-ray just ports that over

$125 for 4 LPs seems steep. Princes 4lp greatest hits is like $50. The 5lp smiths queen is dead box was $90 on day one.

In for the CD and BD audio. I only have the MFiT version of the album. I listen to it quite a bit.

A niggling point but I wish they'd change the album art. Plant looks like he has a trash can on his head.
