Larry was the guy who suggested that Herb record "A Taste of Honey" after Herb told him about his plans to do a whole album of songs with food titles.

He left so much incredible music and, as a result, many sweet memories for untold millions. That's a wonderful legacy.

Larry Levine and Phil Spector were the greatest team ever to make records as far as I am concerned.

It seems Larry lived a full and long life - nothing less than he deserved for all the hard work he put in to improving the lives of music lovers across the world.

    RIP

  11. The drum and room sound on these tracks (mono or stereo, take your pick)
is MIND BLOWING. I play friends the Sonny Charles-Checkmates Ltd.
A&M stereo vinyl sometimes to show off, they are invariably impressed.

  12. EVERYBODY HERE should read that mixonline article, it's detailed and HILARIOUS!!!

I just pulled out my Herb Alpert & his friends Readers Digest box-set for the first time in years to put on "A Taste Of Honey" and what should I find tucked inside? A printout of Larry's great article from EQ magazine from the 90s:

"An EQ exclusive memoir by the man who engineered the legendary wall of sound......".

It's a fantastic read - I'd be happy to post scans of the article but I'm not sure on the protocol? If I get the go ahead from the gorts/Steve then I'll put it up......

    :)

  14. I dont see a problem....
