meh...my last 2 4AD purchases (Lemon Twigs & Ariel Pink's "Before Today") are quite underwhelming.

It's quite an extraordinary thing that these teenagers play so good, well-educated in music department.

I think that they outsmarted themselves and are yet to write a really good songs.
Same with Foxygen. These guys know how to produce, record and shift styles. Steal from the greatest here and there but not yet nearly close to, say, Todd Rundgren.

Check out this article for an update on their plans to take over the world. Precocious doesn't even begin to describe these two guys. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

If someone loves the Lemon Twigs, where should they start with Rundgren?

The new stuff seems to have a very dry and '70s sound. The TODD influence is as strong as ever.

I adore the new songs, I'm so excited for all the different projects they have talked about.

I also really want to see them again, 2 nights in a row wasn't enough!

Yes. It's one of the oddest-sounding tracks on the album, but it's unique and addicting. Big fan here.

"Go To School tells the heartbreaking coming-of-age story of Shane, a pure of heart chimpanzee raised as a human boy as he comes to terms with the obstacles of life. Todd Rundgren and the D’Addario’s mother Susan Hall play Shane’s parents. The album features contributions from Jody Stephens (Big Star) and their father Ronnie D’Addario."

New song sounds awesome, similar feeling to "She's Leaving Home"

I want these guys to get as weird and out there as they want, I love it. Concept album about a monkey raised as a human boy? I'm very in.

I pre-ordered the new record partially to get pre-sale access to the small record release shows.

"Precocious" doesn't even begin to describe these guys. Is there any kind of rock that they can't master? And then they inevitably go on to subvert your expectations. Amazing.

The latest track I've heard, Foolin Around, sounds EXACTLY like Todd circa '74 but without his pure genius perhaps. Not bad though. Will probably buy the immanent Go To School.
