Shame we're not in a pub. Now, back to the topic Wendy Saddington is another artist possibly less known by some folks - especially those not in Aus.
They also released a song called "Total Eclipse" containing the line "a total eclipse of the heart". Sound familiar? It was roughly the same time as the Bonnie Tyler song, and was a better song than that one IMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh7JEb2qXXI
That is a good pick Bob - never heard that one at the time. It reminds me a bit of Roxy Music & I could imagine them doing it.
Just picking up on The Stroppies in the last couple of weeks. New album coming out in March. Really dig the Modern Lovers/early Go-Betweens vibe of 'Cellophane Car'.
Thanks for all the contributions guys. It makes me happy. I'm too long gone to be up with what's happening over there.
Total legend. There wouldn't be anybody with a bad word about the guy. That's why almost every show on public radio has had a tribute to the guy independent of each other. .
fEEDTIME or is it feedtime? (I know the f is lowercase) was mentioned once in this thread. "Shovel"...below there is no video, just sound.
The Proton Energy Pills, not mentioned yet...One of my favorite Australian bands. "Less than I Spend"
Mortification, not mentioned yet. I saw this band live because I had a high school friend into Christian Metal and he took me to a concert with them and Crimson Thorn. "Primitive Rhythm Machine"
Violetine had some really good songs and i thought they'd be more popular than they became, but alas they didn't.
AKA : The Angels. They got some exposure on USA album radio with the albums Darkroom and Night Attack. Should have been bigger here. Check them out. Great band.
