Don ' t want to sound too Messianic or a trifle too Satanic but if a remaster is all we're getting then so be it.

Then he should go find a crew like Dylan has to comb the archives and make deals and such and allow them to put things together-- for his approval, of course.

Yes, but they can't even put "Honky Tonk Woman" and it's B--side , along with the one or two true mono mixes on the same disc?
    That's like cold Italian pizza.

This is just like the other 2 and we are again forced to buy vinyl to get the SACD. Folded down mono is pointless, it wasn't released that way originally was it? And only getting honkey tonk on a vinyl single. Is there a price yet?

The Beave My Wife Is My Life! And don’t I forget it!

This is it. First satanic, then beggars and now this.
Abkco is spent and the Stones have them by the balls and their not letting go.
When your pulling down 2+ million for one concert, why would you even care?
They know that the hardcore fans have bootlegs of all this stuff, so there is no logical reason for them to care.
And all Abkco can do is to make fools of themselves putting this schidt out.
    Absolutely pathetic.
But again, don’t take offense as it’s only my opinion, which really means nothing.
I’ll wait until it comes down to $20 like the Japanese beggars did last month on Amazon, then I’ll buy it.
But boy what a huge difference it is between the Stones and The Beatles when it comes to things like this, just amazing.
    Beatles Tier 1
    Stones tier 2
    Some things don’t change

Amusing video, even if they got the words a little bit wrong. Listening to the lossless version on Tidal now... is it just me or are the drums sounding a lot less aggressive, at least compared to the 2002? Will inspect closer tomorrow, but I've a feeling the whole thing has been squashed in dynamics again just like Beggars and Satanic 50th remasters were

I think it's the best version period. I used to have the UK Decca vinyl. I wish I still had it but I don't recall it sounding as good as the 2002 SACD.

Not sure why all the surprise, if you look at the pattern with Satanic Majesties and Beggars over the last few years. It was advertised months ahead of the release that Beggars would have no outtakes.
Mmmaybe.... Not to beat a dead horse but this: Details Added! Stones Japan Original Set of "Their Satanic Majesties . . " 50th Anniversary Edition
VS this: The Rolling Stones / Their Satanic Majesties Request: anniversary deluxe | superdeluxeedition
was a welcome choice for me.
Granted, the Japanese Beggars UIGY-9709, with Hello! This Is Mick Jagger was an aberration but I'm hoping there's a Let It Bleed 50th SACD Stereo/Mono Japanese offering similar to Satanic Majesties UIGY-9707/8. You would have to give up the book, though.

Pity the situation between the Stones and ABKO, it's our loss!
We could have so many outtakes from the 60's albums!
The only thing I find appealing on this release is the book, even with the obligatory essay from David Fricke! :)

...and that doesn't even include postage. They must think people are idiots....

Apparently, no. But there is stand alone stereo LP and redbook CD.

Otherwise, there is always a chance to pick SACD-hybrid from 2002 on ebay or discogs.

I know it took a long time for the Beatles to have their business dealings sorted out.. but man, now they have control, their rightful royalties AND (crucially) a production team they trust, they're off and running with deluxe editions.

Imagine if Paul McCartney hadn't held out against Klein, though... they could well have been in a similar situation to the Rolling Stones re: outtakes.
