Yes, the NQ-150 is a very nice EL84 integrated with a very good phono stage and tone controls. Looks pretty cool too!

    Happy about seeing this thread.

A Luxman integrated is my next purchase down the line. Style, quality....and drum roll...tone controls and VU’s. They have it dialed for me.

I don't think you'd regret it. I switched from McIntosh separates to a Luxman integrated and felt it was an upgrade. The sound is top notch but the build quality and level of finish will leave you speechless.

Well it really is a very clean Luxman system! That amp and preamp are so nice and will last for a lifetime.

That is a classic Luxman amp. Those transformers are so nice!

Stealing the DA-06 from the L-509x in my living room really sealed the deal there. The CL-38uC's XLR inputs are true balanced inputs with transformers, but thus are limited to a low 2.5v inputs which the DA-06 provides. I've never had better synergy with a DAC. I have more contemporary DACs which likely measure much better on paper but just don't compare.

If the D-06u CD player is my DA-06 DAC but with a CD transport, that's the one I'd suggest looking out for. Those old TI PCM1792 chips do wonders with the Luxman house sound.

Well, I’m hoping Luxman adds a few more models in between the D-03X and D-10X that they just released, preferably with units that have both SACD and MQA CD capabilities. I don’t have any MQA CDs right now, but it’d be nice for down the road.

The D-07X is coming. No concrete details yet; maybe Q1 or Q2 2021. Will play SACDs.

But will there be any models between the 03X and 07X? I’m guessing the 07X will be close to $8,000. I was hoping for a model more in the price range of the D-05U, or around $4-5000.

No need to take your ball and go home.. lol

My L550- Neutral to Warm, very detailed top to bottom. The only change I would ever make is to its big brother the L590.

I remember when I replaced my POS but TOTL Sony 900ES receiver with a Luxman M120a and a Creek OBH-12 passive pre. Big improvement in sound. I like that some of the newer gear still has that "40 year old" look (Rolltides' preamp). Actually when I bought the M120a from Marty at HiQ audio for $200, he included the C-120a pre but it had some static so I gave it back. Did not know of deoxit back then. Both pieces were trade-ins and minty at the time(1996ish).

i feel a little badly for hijacking the thread, but i would be moving from a phalanx of vintage sansui and marantz, so maybe i'm in a similar position to where you were.
