These Oasis songs written by Liam are pretty good:

    Songbird
    Born On A Different Cloud
    Guess God Thinks I'm Abel
    I'm Outta Time
    Soldier On

However, I am pulling for him. Liam is full of surprises. He's a loose cannon. Half the appeal

Yeah, he surprised us last summer when he blew off a gig here (with Richard Ashcroft!) because he was likely hungover.

Nope. There are Oasis recordings/demos of some Beady Eye songs from 2008. Not that I care too much, but there must have been a reason they didn't make it to the final Oasis LP.

    Cracking single title.

Already your getting LG haters and the album’s not out yet never mind the 45rpm. :)

Beady Eye didn’t catch on because the songwriting was lacking.
As You Were was a big success in the UK outselling his older brother for one simple reason..... THE SONGS!!
It got great reviews, it sold well and he sung it well, is he a great writer? No... those songs were probably mostly written by his co writer with Liam adding his lyrics.
However you claiming his debut was one of the worst albums in history or whatever you said, is just nonsense.
Having opinions is one thing, we all have them, but when I see people diving into a thread with folks excited for a new product and they say stuff like this album is the biggest piece of S... in history that crosses the line, not that you said that but it happens way too often on these forums and it’s troll like behavior because it’s someone looking for a reaction, because you can share a like or dislike without going OTT and being mean about someone’s favorite artist or band.

No idea why — The Roller is a better song than a few songs on Dig Out your Soul.

The Roller dates all the way back to Heathen Chemistry. Again, I’ll never understand how Hung In A Bad Place was deemed a better contribution from Gem than The Roller.

I'm not trying to troll people - I have much better things to do with my time really. I just really didn't like most of the BE and LG solo songs, and think LG's lyrics can be awful. BE and LG solo sound - to me - like Oasis b-side albums. I genuinely don't want to be mean : every time I put on a new record, I want to be blown away by how good it is and find my new favourite album. It rarely happens, which is a shame. I tried really hard with BE and LG solo albums and they never grabbed me in the way I wanted them to.

It's not one of the worst albums in history (I can name others). And from what I've seen, LG live shows look like great fun for the people who are there. I think NG and LG were both holding each other back, if that makes sense. NG's solo record have gone to places Oasis never could. As have the BE / LG albums.

p.s. only wore glasses when I got older :)

I stand by the fact that BE is the best post-Oasis LP.

Very cool way to preview it, with the blasting box.

Also cool to see him happy and smiling.

Bluesy swamp rock with catchy chorus.
Least I could tell with the 45 second taster.

I can't think of a cooler way for him to have previewed his new album.

Yes, but the way he sings it makes it come off as stupid IMO.

obviously making a judgement on only 45 seconds of a song isn't really fair. i'm glad there are listeners here who are excited by that, but i do hope we aren't due for an album of 3 chord liam songs with one verse repeated three times with everyone in the band accenting the same beat on every bar. i've liked some songs liam has written but i find his "rock" songs to be usually the worst ones. i enjoyed "doesn't have to be that way" from the last album, it would be cool if he could head more in that direction.
