Liam Gallagher Why Me? Why Not. Second Album

Except for Noel. Noel's best tracks are ALWAYS B-Sides (ok, not always, but most of them), so his singles are usually al,most as interesting as the albums.
Just listen at the amazing "Rattling Rose", released today. Killer track.

 

Honestly, I don't find Liam's music entertaining, but I do enjoy his interviews. This one's gold:

Rattling Rose isn’t a new single, it’s a b-side from the Black Star Dancing EP. And, on first listen. I like it.

Why does NG insist on those cheap text videos?

Plenty of bands do that nowadays. I’m sure making a full video for a b-side is expensive. I listened to the track on Spotify, but the text video is just a way to get the song on YouTube.

 

His a side get same treatment now.

Budget constraints, fair enough. Don’t think they complement the music myself.

Believe the big ones( artists ) do both. Guess the text ones are for the karaoke lovers.

 

Oh yeah that one. Think in that case the text videos will be better . The concept is good but it doesn’t help the song imo.

 

Out of the brothers album covers ( Noel with the advantage) I prefer Liam‘s As You Were. It’s got a white album vibe to it, classy.

Musically (not monetarily) speaking I'd partially agree with you by saying that as songwriters they're both on crutches these days for whatever reasons. To drop their crutches and run like a champion thoroughbred again they need each other. Some people write brilliant songs. Some people have amazing voices. The rarest breed of all can do both.

But for a man who wrote some of the greatest rock tunes of the last century Noel hasn't written anything truly EPIC since he he walked away from his little bruv. Don't get me wrong, I really like some HFB songs. But it seems the epicness of Noel's writing mysteriously vanished when he vanished from Oasis.

String sections, choirs, clever beats and slick production techniques do not make an epic song by themselves. The song itself must be epic as well. Let's be brutally honest here shall we? Since Oasis split up neither of these infamous brothers have even come close to being as epic as they were when they shared a band, a stage and a life. End of that little story.

 

When the new Jenny Lewis album came out last month, there were lyric videos or static picture videos for all the songs, then she released a proper video for Red Bull & Hennessy, and I’m sure more proper videos will follow as more singles are released. The lyric videos are just a way to get the music on YouTube.

 

Noel doesn’t like doing proper videos I thought that may be the reason.
