Is that "Killing a Little Time" song?
Fitting lyric "I staggered through this criminal reign..."

A bit too proggy for my likening. Fine as is.
I’m trying to figure how the 2016 recording ..if used could fit as a title song.

    Jean Genie... perhaps :)

It was released on DVD, which is how I watched it. I don't know if it's available via any of the streaming services.

Its a no brainer. Go for the UK original. Don't forget the sequel, Ashes to Ashes.
I wasn't surprised the USA remake got cancelled. It wasn't good.
I love both the UK series. Its some of the most irreverent TV you will ever see. I have always been surprised it got through uncensored. The USA version plays it way too safe.

I've seen both the UK and the US version. I liked that the US version didn't try to copy the original exactly - what's the point of that?

I enjoyed both for different reasons.
While I liked the US version, I definitely felt the final episode was rushed, to say the least. The show was cancelled, and I think they were looking for a simple or quick way to wrap everything up and explain what happened.
Was it the best choice? hardly.

It had a great cast, great performances, and I did enjoy the episodes as they aired.

But the final episode was a let-down. I'd really love to know from the writers/producers if that was always the plan, or if that was a compromise for the sake of closure.
I've wondered what would have happened if they were given more time.

Also worth mentioning is the pilot took place in Los Angeles, not New York, and there were a couple of different cast members. Wish they'd have included that on the DVD.

They had no choice but to end the USA version the way they did. At least it wasn't kept hanging. They did the same with Quantum leap. Most cancelled shows get finished mid story and left hanging.
Yes the USA version is a mess but at least they tried to end it.
