It won't happen. Ms Benedetti has one exceptional ability, which is shaping a melodic phrase in the sweetest way. So her current strategy makes sense and she is quite popular in the UK.
Here's an unexpected performance I came across that I liked. Six Concert Etudes for Marimba, composed by Peter Klatzow and played by Jisu Jung. I admire her technique.
Listening to "Paolo Da Firenze - Narcisso Speculando" performed by Mala Punica on Harmonia Mundi Gold.
Listening to CD 2 from "Buxtehude - Complete Harpsichord Music" performed by Simone Stella on Brilliant.
This set is wild, highly recommended: Xenakis: Chamber music [1955-1990]. Claude Helffer, Arditti String Quartet. Montaigne / Naïve.
Heh, I made the same assumption, but FYI Simone Stella is male. I'm happy I bought it and enjoyed listening.
Well, it is like another case of Renee as in Renee Jacobs, whom I do not particularly like - my aversion to countertenor ... Buxtedude is still better known for his organ works.
Listening to "Beethoven - Violin Concerto / Tsintsadze - Miniatures" performed by Lisa Batiashvili / The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen / The Georgian Chamber Orchestra on Sony.
Actually, his first name is René. It's originally a French name for men, though Jacobs is Flemish; Renée is the female form. René is a common name for men in the Netherlands as well.
The discs I've seen all show René. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/René_Jacobs http://www.harmoniamundi.com/#!/artists/54 https://www.amazon.de/s?k=ren%C3%A9+jacobs&i=classical&__mk_nl_NL=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&crid=22SH2FWIHGOJP&sprefix=ren%C3%A9+jacobs%2Caps%2C145&ref=nb_sb_ss_c_2_11
Stella has received a lot of plaudits for his 16 CD Froberger Complete Harpsichord and Organ, also on Brilliant. Still cheap on jpc. He has also recorded Böhm, Reincken and Walther (all on Brilliant).
I was just looking at Mortensen is much better known to me since he made a number of recordings with Trevor Pinnock and the English Concert.
Listening to "Haydn - Sonates au clavicorde" performed by Marcia Hadjimarkos on Zig Zag. Sonatas No. 32, 44, 48, 20, 41 & 42
What do you think about Kent Nagano's Varèse work? I saw there was a copy of the Apex 2 disc set on Amazon and gave my brother the high sign.
I listened to the Violin Concerto from this yesterday, thank you for posting about it. It was interesting, I'll have to give it some more listens and the rest of the disc to see if I want to buy it. @Rose River Bear while you're here do you mind listing your favorite individual discs for Sibelius' first two symphonies? Vanska/Lahti and Berglund/Bournemouth have been in my heavy rotation since our last discussion (Segerstam/Helsinki set is on the way) and I am reminded of just how great Sibelius' early symphonies are. 2020 I'm definitely going to buy much more Sibelius and Martinu.
