In 1897 Tennessee held a Centennial Exposition (one year late) with numerous temporary wood & plaster structures on the grounds of what became Centennial Park. The full size Parthenon replica was not demolished like the other structures after the Exhibition and survived until it was rebuilt in concrete during the 1920s. The Athena statue was added in 1990. When my wife & I were newlyweds we rented a house just a block from the park, but our view of the Parthenon was blocked by a high-rise senior's residence.
D.959. The piano sound is a bit "glassier" than on D.958, but his playing is spectacular. I might prefer Arrau overall, though.

Excellent! You got yours before I did! I’m still waiting and I’ve been really looking forward to this release! Enjoy it!
1986 reissue of a recording made for & first issued by Reader's Digest. It was reissued in 1977 on a Quintessence LP & by Chesky on CD. I have it on a Chandos CD. Recorded 5/26/65, Walthamstow Assembly Hall, London. Producer: Charles Gerhardt. Engineer: Kenneth Wilkinson. Mastered by Jim Shelton, Europadisk, NYC. No mention of Direct Metal Mastering is made in the packaging, but "DMM by Europadisk" is written in the deadwax.
Since they had great source material to work with, I can imagine the SACD must be fabulous. I'll see if I can find one that doesn't require a mortgage on the house.
I checked for the heck of it. Hard to find at this point. 65$-110$ on Amazon. I might go for $65 but over a hundred I wouldn't.
How about the following box? I also have the 9-LP box ... Most of my Radu Lupu's recordings are in the following box
From what I've heard thus far, this performance of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsodies - by Naxos' "house pianist" Jeno Jando - may be quite a bit better than I was expecting ...
