My condolences, CMT. I can imagine that inheriting the music she liked is a nice way to remember her by. I am only aware of a handful of songs my mother liked and wish I had known her musical tastes better.
Now playing: Olivier Messiaen - Poèmes pour Mi; Sept Haïkaï; Le réveil des oiseaux - Françoise Pollet, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Joela Jones, The Cleveland Orchestra, Pierre Boulez - recorded 1994, 1996
Felix Mendelssohn, born 03 February 1809. Now spinning the violin concerto with Stern/Ormandy. It's probably my favorite violin concerto, along with Dvořák.

Biggest bargain in quite a while, 25-cent 2-CD set from 2001. Recorded 9/56, Walthamstow Assembly Hall, Lpndon. Producer: Kurt List. Engineer: Herbert Zeithammer. First issued on mono & later on stereo Westminster LPs. Remastered here by Ulrich Vette. Good performances in vivid stereo.
Now playing the following CD from my Chopin collection. Haven't played this CD since the early 2000's ...
This CD twofer was probably released before DG took over the company or the entire catalog ... I have the following box that is entirely made up of original Westminster recordings
No, that reissue series (Westminster: The Legacy), of which I have 25 CDs, was issued by DG, "A Universal Music Company". It also says "Previously Released by MCA Records, Inc." And before that ABC Records and before that the original Westminster Records.
99 cents for this 2004 RCA/BMG reissue CD. The original CD with just the Midsummer Night's Dream music was recorded 7/9-10/87. The Overtures, originally on another CD, were recorded 7/8/87 and 6/7-10/88. All recorded in the Dominikanerbau, Bamberg, Germany.
