The Bobbie Gentry box was very encouraging for that type of thing. I hope someone over there (with their Capitol connections) has Melba on their short list. Two sets for MM like the BG one would be a dream come true.

Wow, it would appear it has been almost a year since I've added a new Country release to my library unless you count the new Shelby Lynne or Lucinda Williams neither of which I would consider the heart of country.
I learned about this through a direct email from Real Gone Music and from the great Bear Family thread on this site. Wow am I glad I picked this up. This is a great, great set!
Kieran Kane has been a mainstay in the world of country music, continuing to record and tour on a regular basis. His self-titled solo album still has not been reissued on CD. 'As Long As I'm Rockin' With You' was written by Kieran Kane and became a major hit for John Conlee. ' Rayna Gellert and Kieran Kane are a popular Americana duo who tour and record.

The great Charlie Rich scored his eighth number one country song on the Billboard Country Singles Chart in 1977 with this great Billy Sherrill production. A writer for the Oxford American Magazine once described Charlie Rich as "The missing link between Elvis Presley and Ray Charles."
Charlie Rich produced this next top ten hit single from burgeoning country music star David Wills. From Barrooms To Bedrooms was a greet slice of honky-tonk and country-pop music blended together perfectly.
David is a very nice guy. I've spoken with him a few times and you'd never know was a country star in his younger days. For the past few decades, David has focused on writing/recording/performing Gospel music in addition to other non-musical ventures. His adult son died prematurely about 2 years ago. When the time is right, it would be great if David could be featured on one of the RFD-TV programs hosted by Bill Anderson. Since David plays Gospel music and is both a hit songwriter and country legend, he could easily be included on 3 of the programs. Not to mention, David could also be featured on another related show with song and interview, Larry's Country Diner. Despite his long list of session work, David Wills deserves proper recognition for his own work as a singer and songwriter. Wills wrote the hit songs 'If You're Thinking You Want A Stranger' (recorded by George Strait) and 'Wild Horses' (recorded by Garth Brooks).
