And then it just became a Muñoz day... great story on the Dan Rather Big Interview on how he and Paul Shaffer met, got me digging back in.

So late to the party on this one but wanted to add my name as a Mehldau fan and thank @AxiomAcoustics for inspiring a listen to this outstanding album. This might even edge out the Jarrett Haden duo outing, but ultimately both are wonderful. And the b&w picture is glorious!
Since I've re-started playing The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady I feel like I've entered a place I can't get out. It's not even fun anymore. I try too play something else but always end up felling the need to listen to a similar sound- that I've been unable to find so far. Those guys on Impulse really knew how to put the spiritual side of an artist into record. Even the solo piano album from this period is good. ("even" because I'm not a fan of solo piano albums). I'm trying to leave this sinner lady behind, but it's hard.

Fortunately for you there are so many options for music enjoyment now, unlike 30 years ago where you had to buy music at a record store. I don't know if you are set on vinyl only, but you can try streaming, or ordering audiophile CDs from Japan like Lon does, or downloading high res files to a DAP or DAC to still enjoy jazz in a rural area.
