Wow! Sandy Denny, one my favorite female singers. She, Laura Nyro and Jacqui McShee are source of positive emotions for me.

NP Stan Getz - Getz Au Go Go (Verve) Stereo silver on black label It’s hitting the 60s this week so I’m celebrating with some tropical jazz.
Someone in the Organissimo thread linked to an interview with the choreographer Bill Evans at JazzWax. Fascinating. Interview: Bill Evans, the Dancer
We've had three snows this year with a total of around 10.5 inches. Our average yearly total 1991-2020 was only 4.7 inches.
It's been reported that tabla player / percussionist Badal Roy has passed away. I hadn't realised he'd played with so many greats from the 70s onwards until I looked him up on wikipedia. Dave Liebman tweeted this in appreciation. https://twitter.com/Dave_Liebman/status/1483938513804574727

NP Art Pepper So In Love now part of the 16 disc Galaxy box Such a strong run of form in the late 70s
I love Brit jazz of this era , do you have a recommendation for which LP to listen to for Skidmore and also Birchall. Thanks
Epic choice for first record of his to start with Les. Aside from his great early 60s trio with Swallow and Bley , that one is near the top of a deeeeep catalogue of quality work over the decades
Three of my favourite singers too , though you don’t usually see Nyro mentioned in the same sentence as Jacqui and Saint Denny. Laura is such a unique voice
