Producers extraordinaire Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis should have their own corner carved out for them and this beauty is just one reason why.

This is a lot of fun, @ando here :edthumbs: I was all stuck in classical and jazz, but I'm "branching out."

Now playing: another compil. from another early R&B performer.

    Look at her... Wow.

She was great. And totally blues, right? The roots.

I read an article last week that Bootsy's doctors told him not to play bass onstage anymore. :shake:

After discovering this song through a black music themed radio program – it was the James & Bobby Purify cover - I sampled different versions to find my favorite. I settled for the one by Maurice & Mac. It was recorded at the Fame Studios in Muscles Shoals, AL, like the posted demo by Otis Redding (according to Wikipedia he was asked by studio owner Rick Hall to assist with the production of Wilson Pickett’s cover).

Maybe Soul fans can open up their own 'Listenin' to Soul and Conversation thread', and leave this one to R & B ?

    They are different IMHO :)
