I’m starting this thread because I want to establish a long lasting place in this forum for all Beatles fans! The topics are only their music and the conversation about it! It’s also possible to talk about their solo music, guest appearances on other records and cover versions of their material. I also want to achieve with this thread that some people who don’t like them aren’t annoyed when the Beatles are mentioned in so many threads which aren’t about them. Now it’s your turn! I think I’m going to listen to the White Album today or tomorrow:agree:

Can't get too many Beatles threads in my book... not listening to anything right now, except for what's playing in my head. LOL. Their music is like old friends I revisit

  6. Finally! A place where we can discuss the Beatles. That's what's been missing from this forum. The void has been filled.

Anyone been listening to the 5.1 surround versions of the later albums in the deluxe editions? I have been listening to The White Album recently and it’s a revelation in 5.1. Some tracks, which were perhaps less ‘stand out’ than before really have a new focus on them in this format. An example would be Cry Baby Cry - sounds sensational in 5.1!

Back in the 90s, I recorded the (abreviated) Anthology documentary series onto VHS. My player packed in years ago, so recently I grabbed the DVD box (for 10 euros - bargain!) and I'm enjoying gradually going through it all.

I'm listening to non-Beatles stuff today but did enjoy Side 2 of Red Rose Speedway while chopping some vegetables for tea on Friday afternoon. I fully appreciate that it's fairly ordinary soft rock but it's extremely melodic, well-recorded, sounds great and I love, love, love it (even Loup!)

Yes, the DVD box is fantastic! I’m always listening to the related CDs when I watch the documentary:)

I have one question although I own the super deluxe edition, but now surround setup: Why is the surround mix of the White Album the only one which isn’t available on Apple Music?

I've been away from the boys since the documentary, but I love when they come on the AM station in my car:
