saw Long Shot last night. while the premise is a bit far-fetched, thought it was pretty funny if a bit crude. the leads had chemistry and were quite good. seeing Saul Goodman as president was alarming. before the show, saw trailers for Blinded By The Light(inspired by and uses Springsteen music) and Good Boys(R-rated comedy with middle school students-WOW!)

Theron seems to have a touch for comedy as well; review here was very positive

I like Rogen. Seems like a good movie to stream once available.

My wife and I saw this yesterday and really enjoyed ourselves!

It's a somewhat by-the-numbers RomCom, but with gender rolls reversed and some more crude sex & druggie humor thrown in. At its core though it's pretty sweet if fairly predictable. Great casting and good jokes help it overcome the predictable and hokey parts.

One of the worst films I have ever seen. It’s like it was written by a computer.

I liked it a lot. I thought it was funny, sweet, and hit all the right marks. It's not going to blow you away but it's a good time at the theater.

    I liked it a lot.

I'm partial to Seth Rogen comedies though.

Saw it with best friend after trying day and thoroughly enjoyed it for what it was. Thought Charlize was terrific and looked fantastic.

I saw this a couple weeks ago. It wasn't bad. I don't mind Seth Rogen at all myself. Thought he was brilliant in The Disaster Artist when he played that filmmaker pointing out all the flaws in Tommy Wiseau's movie, lol.

I also reckon Rogen could make a decent Ben Grimm AKA The Thing in the next Fantastic Four film. Gruff his voice up once he's in performance capture mode and I think he'll do just fine. :)

I enjoy this in the theater, though I really wasn't prepared for the turn to rough sex. Of course that's probably just me being an old man.

Even though Theron & Rogan had a somewhat cute chemistry, was I the only one that winced every time they locked lips!? Seriously, it grossed me out WAY more than the laptop scene (typical Rogan excess wankery!)

Funny. I don’t recall seeing any rough sex - there was the unbelievable 10 second “O” for their only real sex scene. And then a later scene where she had some “bossy” requests, but nothing was shown other than his leaving her room afterwards.

I only saw it once, but she asked him to choke her if I'm not mistaken.

Huge bomb: cost $40 million, made only $52 million. Ms. Theron has not done well with comedies lately; A Million Ways to Die in the West cost $40M and made $87M, which is not quite a break even. Mad Max: Fury Road surprisingly just barely broke even, since it cost $150M but only made $378M. And The Huntsman basically tanked, since it cost $115M and made only $165M. She's a bit hit or miss.

She “said” or "asked" for a few similar things and he responded in disbelief. But again, there was no actual sex scene, as they cut away to him leaving her room. I’m going with your “... that's probably just me being an old man.” :D

Oh wow, that's surprising. I thought it did better than this. I'm getting the feeling that these RomCom lighthearted comedies are going to be the domain of Netflix or other online platforms. People just don't seem to buy tickets for these kind of movies anymore, which is a shame.
