Being a tiny speaker fan, do tell us more about these combos.....listening to Virtue Audio Sensation M901 and ProAc Tablette 10 and sometimes l wish for nothing else also. The Tablette 10 is so musical- would like to hear The Q7 at some point.
The Yamaha 1100 absolutely trounces the Rogue Sphinx in every metric, including the MM phono stage. Same can be said for the Rega Elex-R; it’s an all around better amp than the Sphinx. Of course, the 2100 is likely even better. The only Rogue integrated that arguably competes with the Yamahas in subjective sound quality is the Cronus Magnum II/III. They are not as quiet and don’t extend quite as deep in the bass but they do some things a little better than the solid state amps. The 2100 is tough to beat in this price range, especially when you consider its build quality and design is on an entirely different level from most of the others.
Yamaha 1100 is nice. I'm reading it has been discontinued. You can still get it brand new for $1999: Yamaha A-S1100 Integrated Amplifier
HiFi Heaven doesn’t actually have any of those in stock. It’s a bait and switch tactic. If you attempt to purchase one they will instead offer a discount on the newer 1200/2200 series amps. Unfortunately, the new amps have inferior sound quality IME.
As an update, I finally decided and went for the 2100. I'll soon have it in my system, really looking forward to it.
Thanks for letting us know what you purchased. Always like to see what OP eventually chooses, I hate it when OPs never reply with final choice. Nice amp, pretty sure you will like it. Let us know your thoughts after a few weeks with it. Always fun to get new gear. ENJOY!
I preferred the Ania to the Exact. So it would be a downgrade in my book. But I enjoyed both carts. Rega seems to agree if you go by pricing.
I have a Yamaha A-S1100 and love it. It replaced a Yamaha CA2010 that I bought in 1978. They are very good quality at their price point.
