I recently picked up this wonderful DCC album on vinyl (NM/$30) and it was great to hear most of the songs in stereo. I have a mono first pressing and several CD's with a lot of this material but the stereo feel was a very enjoyable change. Nat is definately in the room singing (he better get out quick because I'm moving next Saturday/maybe he can fit in the trunk?). Steve, I see (hear) what you mean about Nat's breathing giving woofers a run for their money...

    Yeah, sorry about that.

This is one of the few "unfiltered" Neumann microphone vocal recordings I have ever come across. I noticed that after this album, all of the Nat "King" Cole recordings have a low pass filter on his mic.

    Steve,

I think his breathing goes lower than the famous approaching T-Rex thumps in Jurrasic Park. Despite the walls shaking and fire hydrants exploding several blocks away, it's worth the price of admission (and insurance) hearing Nat's voice without any filtering...

    I agree. Mind blowing!
