Luke Skywalker STAR WARS Saga Has Ended

In a recent interview, Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy says "it’s vital that Lucasfilm move away from the Skywalker saga, and will stop recasting legacy characters."



I read that as meaning, "we're not ever going to make expensive mistakes like Solo ever again. More here:

It ended for me in 1983.

 

No, they should have recasted Kathleen Kennedy instead about 3 sequels ago.

These classic things like Star Trek always fall into the hands of the wrong people and especially writers who simply don't understand what made the original so good.

 

The first Six movies are all I need

That's rarely an excuse here in Hollywoo.

 

They'll do whatever their market research says will make them the most money. When there's money to make remaking the whole original trilogy ten years from now, they'll do that.

 

A couple of times, we were endlessly re-doing a scene in the original Star Wars, and I turned to Lucas and said, "you know, this might be easier if you just reshot the whole movie over again with new actors." He chuckled and basically said, "yeah, I considered that for about five seconds."

 

You would think, five seconds would be all the time he needed to decide to do just that.

Or at least knock-out a scene where Greedo shot first, and keep it in the fault for a retcon.

 

I only need the original three.

No, the "joke" is that Disney seems to think they need to tell you, Luke Skywalker's story is no longer going to be the focus of their never-ending stream of money-grabs based on a 1977 sci-fi movie they bought the franchise to.

It's my way of saying, "yeah, water is wet...so where's the revelation..".

 

I really stopped paying attention after Jedi.

 

We all did, but the Mouse House has to keep crankin' 'em out...

Maybe they can do a miniseries with Chewbacca and Dug the Dog.
