Lets hope the missing elements (Freebird) have been found and we are getting the complete show as it went down and not just a dub of the Freebird Movie. Ronnie’s widow Judy Van Zant said back in January she had the master reel for this show and it was given to her by Allen Collins father Larkin..,

The Freebird footage appeared years ago on the various artrists DVD "Green Lights, Blue Skies" (Uncut Masters). It's been on YouTube for years too.

IIRC it was Artimus, and the quote was "...and we blew The Stones off the stage"

They were definitely the best act of the day and came on at exactly the right moment (late afternoon). The Stones came on really late when it was getting cold and they were an anti-climax.

I love it when s**t happens just right, and a band catches fire like that. Like I said in another thread recently, watching that version of "Travelin' Man" gives me chills.

Thanks for the heads-up! ordered the vinyl/DVD package. Wish they had a deluxe set that also included the CD with the vinyl/ Blueray so may order the CD later.

Now if they would only release a Fox Theater Deluxe Box with all the concerts that made up "One More From The Road" I would be a happy man.

Ive seeb the Freebird footage before, but the entire rest of the show is on Freebird: The Movie

Still nice to have a hopefully upgraded and more definitive version :)

This could be great! And unless other stuff is unearthed, this is probably the last major thing in the vaults. Ed King said the vaults were empty. Sorry, Ed. Close but not quite.

    My question is:

    What is the audio source?

After all, Whiskey Rock-a-Roller was remixed for the 1991 box set. And, it sounds great. It’s been said the show was mixed by Tom Dowd in 1987, possibly for an archival release. I wonder if they used the 1987 mix for the Freebird movie and added crappy reverb and extra applause. I sure as hell hope this is not the crappy audio source from Freebird, and has a good sound mix and mastering. I’ll await reports. Damn, I hope this sounds good

I hope the audio is improved. If they have the multitrack tapes, they could really do something special, potentially

Don't forget about all three shows from the Fox Theater from 1976. A "complete" recordings box set from that run of shows is long overdue.
