Yes, I’d never seen this one either. An excellent and highly entertaining interview! Thanks so much for sharing that!
I think it was originally Rolling Stone..the issue with her straddling a chair on the cover…one of my faves!
I got this new book Madonna: Song By Song from Amazon. Haven't read it yet but it seems like a nice little reference title. It covers everything from Madonna through Madame X and has a list of unreleased tracks and one-offs from various things.
I also recently found what may be my oldest Madonna book in a storage box. Apparently I held on to this paperback biography from 1985.
40 years ago today Madonna's first single Everybody was released. Not sure when it was done but it appears the video is now in HD:
Happy 40th anniversary "Everybody"! Madonna has released the original 7" edit version of "Everybody" to streaming services along with its rare instrumental b-side. The instrumental mix is unique and not an edit of the 12" dub version. Very happy to see it released again.
Thanks for the heads up! I just checked and the two tracks are available for purchase as a lossless download on Tidal (and presumably elsewhere).
my initial reaction: a small step for the "comprehensive hits collection" camp, but a giant leap for madonna's reissue campaign. we'll see how it all shakes out...
Happy 30th anniversary to Erotica. I bought the CD the day it came out. My memory of that day is driving home from the store and getting pulled over and ticketed by the cops for making an illegal turn. I swear to this day I never saw the sign but realize it's no excuse. A vinyl copy was not released in the U.S. until 2016, but I got the original European pressing shortly after its release at a record show. Still sounds great.
The UK release was apparently brought forward to the 14th (and not the 12th as I'd assumed), so my little piece for Erotica's anniversary was published last week. It's such a brilliant album. EG.
