    Howdy all.

I am considering a trade for an Magnat RV3 integrated amplifier. Does anyone know if the Magnat RV3 has a true tape loop/tape monitor function? It has a REC out and a TAPE in...but I don't see a switch for a true loop in any of the photos.

A couple of reviews online mention a "tape loop", but none of them tested it as far as I could tell, and I suspect the writers were assuming there is an actual loop based on the inputs/outputs and don't actually know. Looking at the unit I don't see how there could be.

I've reached out to Magnat with my question but haven't been able to get a response...

    Thank you!

It seems there is not a tape "loop", but you can record. There is no way to monitor the tape deck when playing another source. If you pick tape as the source, you might even get a cool feedback loop if you try to "monitor" on your tape deck.

    from the manual:
    REC Out
    For connecting devices for analogue
sound recording (e.g. tape recorder). The
signal for the selected audio source with
fixed level applies for this output, i.e. it is
independent of the position of the volume
    knob.
    TAPE input
For the connection of a cassette deck or
    tape recorder.
