Well, 1988 was not a year to "write home about" LOL, but I really liked the Talking Heads album "Naked". I think I'd like to add Keith Richards "Take It So Hard",
to the list. From the list I thought the U2 track was good too( still is LOL). Jane's Addiction "Jane Says" is a good one too - I especially like the version with steel drums.

    From your list I'd take:

Cult of Personality – Living Colour
    Birthday – Sugarcubes
    Suedehead – Morrissey
    Dickie’s Such an A$$hole – Frank Zappa
My Secret Place – Joni Mitchell
Better Be Home Soon – Crowded House
This Note’s for You – Neil Young
    Reptile – The Church
    Stop – Sam Brown
    Alphabet Street – Prince
Don't Walk Away – Toni Childs
Under the Milky Way – the Church
    Orinoco Flow – Enya
Love is Stronger Than Pride – Sade

1988 isn't a year I'm too familiar with music-wise, as I was travelling most of that year, so I'd have to look in my iTunes to see what else I might add. The only things I can think of off the top of my head are something from Randy Newman's 'Land of Dreams' (let's go with 'Dixie Flyer') and something from Til Tuesday's 'Everything's Different Now' (how about 'Long Gone (Buddy)'?), and the post above has just reminded me of the Waterboys. Title track of 'Fisherman's Blues' I think, there.

    Side B
    Talk Talk, "The Rainbow"
    Crowded House, "Love This Life
"The Style Council, "The Story of Someone's Shoe"
    Crowded House, "Into Temptation"
