I bought Solar fire for the price of two beers. Truly amazing album!
    Any appreciation here?

I always liked the first few albums by these guys. Without looking
I can’t remember how many or what the titles were.
Then they had that ginormous hit..... it kind of ruined it for me.
I kind of would like to get those again though.

    Old music is terrible.

Love it and spin it regularly. The Good Earth is another solid record by this lineup. Check it out if you don’t have it.

I had the good fortune of seeing the MMEB when they toured behind "The Roaring Silence" in Los Angeles. They were perhaps the "tightest" rock band that I ever heard as far as professionalism. It was definitely in the top 10 of all the concerts that I ever attended. Glorified Magnified and Watch are perhaps my favorites from them as far as records go. Messin is also a great record.

    A terrific album.
Check out Nightingales & Bombers as well. This one is a real treat.

Gee guys, you're slipping. It took until post #10 to slam music post 1979.

One of the absolute best bands of the 70's, still better then most!

Nightingales and bombers and Angel Station are my regular plays ever since they were released.
I have pretty much everything Manfreds related.
    Only thing I wouldn't recommend is a DVD .

Because it's awfully bad SQ and the singer used sounds nothing like on the albums.
Camera work isn't anything to write home about either.
I can't get to the rack it's in at the moment I need a ladder.
I'll send my son up for it tomorrow to check what it's called.

I liked them but I still don't know where the hell "wrapped up like a douche" came from. Not in the original and makes no sense.

To me, it sounded like that even though I knew Bruce's song by heart.

It comes from the imagination, because thats not what he sings.

Revved up like a deuce is easily heard...well, once you know that’s what it is...

He's definitely making a "sh" sound during "deuce". The original is "cut loose like a deuce" fwiw.

Yep, but he’s saying revved up like a deuce, but the sh sound is a bit of a slurred c sound to me.

Whatever he is singing, I have always wondered if Springsteen okayed the lyric change or if he didn't but saw how much money he was making and decided to keep his mouth shut.

Bruce makes fun of it in his tv special at the time of Devils and Dust. He even does the douche line and cracks everyone up.

He said he liked the pay check, IIRC.

great live band back when I saw them first on the 'Watch Tour' probably one of Rock's best vocalists
I rank Chris Thompson up there as one of my favourite vocalists with Paul Rogers and Plant.
band personnel back then included Chris Slade on drums, and Dave Flett on Guitar.
Though many changes to their line up over the years,
they always put on a great show. These days playing small venues but always sell out as they have a loyal fan base.
