That's why he remastered Jethro Tull.

So was YES, Jethro Tull and King Crimson but those are his favourite bands.

I only get Genesis with Grendel. That's really it

I have the Early Stages 6CD set which has the Glasgow Mayfair show from 1982 (albeit a different night?), which this reissue set also has in the deluxe edition. Sounds good (as does that whole set). Not much point in my purchasing this one on that basis though, plus the original EMI CD for SFAJT was very good IMO.

If they'd had the show from the Nite Klub at the Playhouse that I went to, I might've gone for it. Would love a recording of that show: Fish - "you've got raw voice, we've got 5k" (Gie's a bun being belted out in the background!).

There's a bit in Forgotten Sons too, which comes straight out of The Knife...

My friend way back, pointed out the keyboard riff in Incommunicado was just the 3rd part of Supper's Ready but faster.

It's very close, admittedly... but the feel is very different.

Even then it still sounds like Marillion.

Isn't Incommunicado the song they actually did steal from The Who's Bell Boy (from Quadrophenia)?

I already said Marillion has their own identity, I just pointed out the riff similarity.

With that said, it's not a very difficult arpeggio to play

Steven seems to prefer Steve Hackett solo (of which he remixed some) to Genesis, which is kind of a cool stance to take, IMO.

Fish was studying forestry at Newton Rigg college just outside Penrith in Cumbria so he must have written the Allotment poem around the time he was there. He mentioned that he was working in forestry in this interview. I met him once at a gig in Winterthur, funny guy took a swim in the fountain pool outside the venue to cool off.

Already have that stuff (Recital and the concept videos) but maybe they've been improved? Guess it will be nice to have it under one roof so to speak.

Been dying to hear that live show.

Oh hallelujah if so. I totally love the opening "Assasing"/"Punch and Judy" combo.

Probably not worth a thread of its own, however Fish's new and last solo album is being released on 10th July 2020 - Weltschmerz

    Sweet!

This has been YEARS in the making. I hope he records a live album DVD but there's no way he's coming back to the US.

Fingers crossed. It was a comment from the band correcting their own social media managers comments to my partner so should hopefully be so.

That opening from Fugazi is incredible. I didn't hear that album until 1994 when I was 13 and I was also getting into Prince, Kraftwerk, Echo and the Bunnymen and all sorts of other great music so it was an incredible summer. My friends were listening to happy hardcore so one had to do something to keep from going barmy. I air guitarred Assassing with my Walkman blasting on the ferry to Liverpool just to annoy them all :pleased:

Ordered! And I'm not even crazy about the album. Hoping the 5.1 mix will convert me.
