"The Blues And The Abstract Truth" is a great title for an album. Did you know that Oliver Nelson did the music for the tv show "Six Million Dollar Man"?
Spring and summer are the rock, blues and other more lively music time of year for me, with certain jazz being the relaxing alternative. Right now, I'm spinning a CD reissue of Brubeck's Time In, and have gone back to listening to Pat Metheny's Secret Story, which is WAY too haunting.
I had Ray Brown All Stars going a bit ago Don't Forget The Blues. Ray Brown Trio before that Soular Energy. I could listen to Gene Harris play that piano all day.
On my CD is another Oliver Nelson Arrangement - "Alfie" - Sonny Rollins. Just got this and really enjoying it.
