I always liked this one, the Rockin' Berries with "He's in Town" (1964):

Danny Holien "Colorado"...this song is one that I picked up when I was in high school in 1973, it got a bit of airplay on top-40 in Northern California. It was on Tumbleweed Records.

Here's a pretty, mellow track from 1970, "If I Knew You Were the One", by Richard Twice.

this is an Australian song from 1980.... Don't let the crazy title fool you, this is a beautiful, poignant song.

I always think of JJ as a seventies guy, but this is 1982 and I reckon it's super mellow and beautiful

Here’s another JJ Cale number, Magnolia. Definitely a mellow tune.

I bought that great album back in the day. Another great LP is Pocos' Crazy Eyes which features their version of Magnolia.

Big fan on mellow songs from this time frame. I have been compiling them and burning CDs for years. Some of my favorite obscure ones from the 60s:

Is This Love? - Batdorf & Rodney
Your Husband, My Wife - Brooklyn Bridge
    Morningtown Ride - Seekers
In Need of a Friend - Cowsills
    Mr. Diengly Sad -Critters

And this beautiful track from Johnny Rivers:

The 70s are a whole other story... It would take me pages to list all my favorite mellow 70s songs.......
