I think in the late 80's metal's signature sound tended to be very anti-bass - in response to Hip Hop.

Dave Mustaine said a few days back the the expanded No Life reissue still isn`t going to happen because lars won`t give him credit for his songs. This is believable and I side with Dave on this one.
Anyway has anybody heard anything about the Justice Deluxe? The bass guitar doesn`t even matter to me.I`m just hoping they find some good studio outtake parts like the Puppets box.

I would like the drums brought to life, they were always too clicky. I'd like to hear the bass.
Essentially I'd like a remastered original and a remixed version, that sounds how the album should have sounded. A 5.1 would get me to buy it.
This was my favourite metallica album.

I like the old Justice demo boot because the bass drum doesn`t sound clicky.

Nothing confirmed but I'd bet on a late August announcement (to mark 30 years since the release) with a November release date.

Any teasers, like will we get a live cd of something that isn't out there? Any unreleased songs?

I dunno, I bought AJFA the week it was released and immediately noticed the dry mix and almost complete lack of bass, which I found surprising after Jason's bass was so predominant in the mix on the Garage Days EP, which I think sounds great BTW. I just thought the production was a step down compared to MOP, and the lack of bass was a big part of that IMO.

No I will buy the next two and then I stop. All up to the Black Album (included) I like about them. After that... nah.

No idea. I would assume so in regards to live CDs.

Possibly alternate solos and maybe a few different rythym tracks.
The demos have a regular kick drum instead of Lars` click bass drum.
I don`t think there are any unreleased songs.

All this makes me wonder if they have any studio tracks in the can with Danzig doing the vocals.

It's a well established fact that they love Glenn. Plus, Jamez does background vocals on Twist of Cain, and Possession. Danzig and AJFA were also recorded at about the same time, albeit in different studios. I highly doubt they didn't invite Glenn over to studio.

Sounds like it would be great but I highly doubt anything like that exists to be honest......

I for one cannot wait! I loved the first two boxes and then when MOP dropped I almost Sh!t my pants at all the goodness. I still spin the vinyl stuff from it. If the trend continues into AJFA I am super happy. Sure I'd love a bass happy mix, who wouldn't... I used to hate hate hate live stuff until I got my head straight and realized these are really little excerpts in time. They are very unique and should be treasured.

To each his own. Thanks for posting your thoughts. :righton:

Chances of updating the video format of the upcoming boxsets to upgraded HD video??

Getting the 84 Metal Hammer gig from the RTL boxset in 720p or 1080p would have been great

Metal Hammer was recorded to standard def video so no chance of real HD. They could upscale it but your blu-ray player or TV are doing that when you watch it. Only advantage with a blu-ray release would've been higher bitrate.

I would have expected the full details this week for the album's 30th anniversary.

However, it turns out that the album was actually released on September 6th '88 as opposed to the August date that has done the rounds everywhere on the web.
(See the Metallica site which has been updated - ...And Justice For All - Metallica )

Anyway, despite that...I'm guessing we'll probably still get the info this week! :D
