Now if it had been a Megadeth turntable I might have been tempted to go back to vinyl

Probably more of an aesthetic gimmick than a performance unit. Pro-Ject has made all sorts of gimmicky "shaped" turntables or turntables with a printed wrap on them. Metallica has a huge fan base, they own their masters now and I'm sure they are charging Pro-Ject hefty licensing fees. I'm also sure some hardcore fans that "have to have" everything Metallica related will buy it.

Only if the base was Vic Rattlehead's face, with moveable chains...

    I'm sticking with my Metallica-themed peer-to-peer mp3 client skin.

If its as bad a reproducing sound as much as the actual band is....I'll stick with my P8 !!

Uhh...I mean, they're generally considered to be the best metal band of all time, all known to be excellent musicians...they're not my scene, but "bad a (sic) reproducing sound" seems categorically inaccurate - maybe just say that you don't like them?

I think he meant that their last albums have horrible mastering and sound like s###t and he's right about that! Musicianship has nothing to do with that.

I'm sure Pro-Ject sales are strong, so it doesn't really matter what I think, but I would be more interested if they would just cut most of their products and focused on one turntable at each price point.

I thought it was actually angled based on that picture, but it still looks pretty cool in my opinion.

It would be cooler if the plinth was normal sized but the platter was a jaggedy and spun around like a BUZZSAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like it has a nice metal subplatter and tonearm. Would be a shame to put a platter mat on top of it! You can use other headshells/carts with it.

best metal band of all time? Maybe most popular/mainstream. Pretty sure if you asked metalheads the best of all time its usually going to Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, or Motorhead.

Metallica is in the conversation for "best metal band of all time" alongside those you mentioned. Reasonable minds can disagree, but it is silly to claim Metallica are a tier below.

its a very subjective and debatable category. In terms of quality music, theyre definitely below those bands as in imo they only have 3 essential albums. But this isnt a metallica debate, so ill end it there.

Fair, although I was going off two separate articles...listicles...I found on the interwebs putting them at number one. "One of the best" is probably more appropriate.
