I have the SACD and the regular redbook CD issue. Is this actually better than the SACD?

Probably going for cheap, because it really isn't listed well enough to give anyone confidence that it actually might be the MFSL Gold version. Yes the auction is listed as such, with a stock photo and stock album info. Yet the only addition the seller adds is "excellent condition". It could very well be the regular CD? I guess if you are truly interested an e-mail to the seller is in order.

Mike, I honestly can't answer you on the SACD, but I seem to be one of the very few who haven't been blown away by most SACD re-issues.

The SACD is a bit brighter, but the MFSL is considerably flat and quite powerful, even 1st listen. The MFSL would be my "take one" choice. I have both.

The SACD was mastered to sound uniform. The MFSL is the master FLAT supposedly. Both are good, only one is for you.

Thanks for the tip. I'm always a bit wary when the listing mentioning the CD as MFSL is completely computer generated, and the seller only says "excellent condition." However, I'll make sure it doesn't go too cheaply (unless I win it of course).

The only thing that leads me to believe it is in fact the real deal is because "MFSL Gold Disc" is listed in the title itself. That is generated by the seller themselves and not Muse.

If you are into Lps, an original pressing can sound really good I bought a sealed one for $15!!And only because the guy thought it was one of the rare covers, he then tried to raise the price to $50. I told hime I would not pay $50 and he offered to sellit to me for $15. I never bought anything from that guy again and he went out of business. Accused me of buying it to sell on ebay!!!!!!!!!

;) You SOB, how dare you try to sell anything on eBay. :D

I can't believe a "retailer" would point fingers at a customer. :sigh: No wonder he's out of business, serves him right.

BTW, the MOFI sits at the top of CD versions. :)

Even though I didn't bid on this auction, you guys talked me into getting a MFSL "Synchronicity". I watched this auction and saw it go up to $26.00, so I checked out half.com and saw a bunch for sale. One happened to be listed as new, opened but excellent condition at less than this auction topped out at - so I actually bought it from half.com. The seller there also automatically upgraded your shipping to priority from media mail for the same price.

Now I will have three versions of this on a digital disc (A+M original CD release, SACD release and MOFI release).

No need to feel bad, I have five versions:
    - hybrid SACD
    - Japanese gold CD
    - MFSL UD I
    - MFSL UD II
    - MFSL UD I made in USA (a misprint?)

I was under the impression this was only available as a MFSL II (or perhaps that I and II sound the same, I forget which).
