Last Oct. Mikey5967 posted a salute to compatible color tv's 50th anniversary. He wished he could watch NBC's 50th color telecast of The Rose Parade on an original 50 year old RCA CT-100 color set. (RCA's first production color receiver.) I was able to live Mikey's wish and watched the parade on my CT-100. I snapped a few pix off the screen of NBC's 50th year of color coverage of the parade as well as the CBS broadcast. Some of the photos are posted on my vintage color tv web page.

Cool pics, Steve! I remember those sets (or at least similar ones) from my youth. We've come a long ways even without altering the basic NTSC standards.

Still, I'm glad I've got my 36" flat screen Pany... ;)

Too bad you didn't get a shot of Brian Wilson in the parade.

Thanks SO much for posting this!! It made my day.

What would have been REALLY cool is if you had videotaped it off the CT-100 tube with a camcorder.

Seriously, tho, thanks a lot. Color TV has come full circle.
