Not too sure about the next line indeed.
And if it does, is that a good sign or shouldn't they just break up at that point? :shh:

On Dylan's "Jokerman" the actual lyric is "with a small dog licking your face" but for years i thought it was "with a small dark look on your face" which is much better.

On Elvis' "Teddy Bear" it sounds like the backing singers are singing "Hot Bananna"

I always thought with the 'Bette Davis Eyes' song Kim Carnes was singing 'She's got better days aside...'

I always thought the opening line of Miss You by the Stones was "I've been haulin' ass along".
Apparently it's not uncommon either. It actually wasn't until I heard the version on Flashpoint that I learned what the actual lyrics were. I felt like such an idiot.

Listen to Bob Weir's vocals on the many live versions of any Grateful Dead song. Who knows what the actual lyrics are? I think it's whatever pops into his head at the time. Some folks find it annoying. I think it's hilarious.

I thought Jimi was very progressive and 'cool' at the time, especially since he seemed to stopping mid conversation to kiss a random guy. kiss the sky is kind of silly, really

    wait....what??

I posted this on the other thread, but The Byrds-- "Standing in the airport, I am waiting for a plane." What I heard was a much better line: "Standing in the air, for I am waiting for a plane." (And it would've fit the song perfectly!)

Patti Smith's "Ask the Angels" would've been better if she was really singing "Quaalude, Quaalude",.

When hearing Oasis' "(What's the Story) Morning Glory," I still prefer my version:
Need a little time to wanker, wanker

What they're actually singing, of course, is:
    Need a little time to wake-up, wake-up

The chorus to Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising" is:
Come on up for the Rising

    But I keep singing:
    Call on up for Verizon

Oh I. I just died in your arms tonight. It must have been some kind of kid.

    Ha Oh man...

When I was young and used to go roller skating at the local roller rink, there was a song I really loved. I'd hear it mixed in with songs like Mickey by Tony Basil, Walk Like An Egyptian by the Bangles etc... But - I didn't know who sung it - and I only ever heard it in the rink... Where the vocals were kind of distorted...

So I grew up thinking the song was called : Bonjaroller

    Haha "My my my Bonjaroller!

Anyone guess what song it really was?

I've always heard it dig my herb too. Made sense to me. Sounds like something Jimi would say.

The bridge in They Might Be Giant's "Ana Ng" is about seeing something on a bridge. Its lyrics/spoken statement are, "When I was driving once I saw this painted on a bridge, 'I don't want the world, I just want your half.'"

When I first heard it I thought it said, "I don't want the world, I just want your hat." I prefer my misheard version.
