Well, the guy at Spin CDs has said my order will be sent when they receive it 'next week'. Annoyed, as they said they had it in stock and 'usually despatched within 24 hours' so its 50/50 whether I get this

Has anyone called MD and tried to order today? Assuming they are open. Just wonder if they have any left lying around.
Well, Tullman and I are going to do our own shootout with this and the ARS tomorrow night (as well as doing some other listening, including a comparison between the AP 45rpm of Sunday At The Village Vanguard and the Alto 33). Stay tuned, folks. Meanwhile, I gave both this MoFi and the ARS a more thorough cleaning. It seems to have quieted down the MoFi surfaces a bit. The ARS surfaces were already quiet. There is no doubt in my mind that the MoFi has more apparent detail. Images are clearer. I compared "Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen". The bass on the MoFi is a bit tauter and more defined. That tautness renders a slightly quicker transient response. The MoFi seems a hair quicker. But the sheer amount of bass, the impact, as well as the sheer crescendo, noticeable when the band transitions from "Black Magic Woman" to "Gypsy Queen", is there in spades on both copies. I found myself pulled into the MoFi performance a bit more. I found myself impacted by the explosiveness of the music almost equally. I'm absolutely glad I grabbed the MoFi, even at $100. I think they could have done more with the extras and packaging, but the main thing is the music, and it shines! But if you can't afford the $100, the ARS gives you almost all of the visceral impact -- at 85-90% of it.
Talked to MD last night. Sold out. I'm mad at myself. I always do this with things I want but don't need. I sit on the fence and wait too long. Hey IF the next title is Bill Evans at the Vanguard, how do those that know that recording well think it will turn out as a one step?

Looks like the person is getting tired of writing numbers (is that a four or a Y?), wonder what 2500 will look like
You're very welcome at my door But they are not mine, only one is for me, the other 4 are already sold to my customers
It's well recorded, but not nearly as demanding or as much of a showoff type of record. This a live trio record, with bass in one channel, and drums in another. It's a GREAT jazz record. This has always been considered Bill Evans' finest trio in terms of sympatico. When the bassist, Scott LaFaro, died in a car crash a little over one week from the recording date, Bill Evans dedicated Sunday At The Village Vanguard to LaFaro, with the album highlighting pieces that feature the bassist's work. The followup taken from the same date, Waltz For Debby, showcased more of Evans and his compositions. My 45rpm AP of Sunday At The Village Vanguard, mastered by SH/KG, sounds terrific. I'm not sure that the MoFi can better it, but perhaps equal it. But who knows? Any betterment is likely to be slight. I also have an AP 33 of Waltz For Debby mastered by Doug Sax and it's really terrific. That might be bettered by the MoFi treatment, but AP was already doing great work back then.
