Anybody had experience with this title? How does it sound? Is it worth pursuing? Thanks, Ron.

    Ron,

I have this on LP. Sonically, it is pretty impressive. Open sounding, deep low-end and the high-end is somewhat over wrought, in my opinion, but very enjoyable to listen to.

I feel it has some of that "MoFi" sound. Not the greatest sounding recording to begin with - nothing like the early-mid 60's stereo Bill Porter Elvis'. It's listenable, but I still hear some MoFi midrange suckout. To instantly hear what's wrong with it, listen to "In the Ghetto" from Steve's 24K Hits compilation and compare that track to the MoFi. Much more warm and natural. I've never heard an original pressing, so I din't know if these are better or worse. Very good album (musically) though.

I also believe this (the MoFi) is the original mix. Every time RCA/BMG issued these tracks they used remixed versions. I have the MoFi Memphis and love it, warts and all.
