Voted for Young Fathers. My runner up would be Kurt Vile.

Ekstasis and I Love You Honeybear, respectively. Both artists' second album, now that I think of it.

I've never heard of any of these except the Kamasi album so I'll go with the Kamasi album!

Three albums are tied on nine votes each. Any more votes to break the deadlock?

Kasey Musgraves. I have not heard all of these. I like the new Costello. I didn't take to the new Paul Weller, maybe I need to spend more time with it. Parquet Courts is just ok. i appreciate what the Arctic Monkeys did but don't like it that much. I like the new Breeders but it doesn't have the wow factor.

Other 2018 releases I've liked are Alejandro Escoveda, David Byrne, Willie Nile, Charlie Pickett, The Liminanas and The Joy Formidable I kknow a few are on the 50-26 list.

One of my favorite 2018 releases that is nowhere on these lists is the new Erica Wennerstrom solo album.

Re the fact that this is such an early poll - given that Mojo is normally out in first week of the month, I have no idea why this one is out a week or more earlier than usual. When I picked it up on Friday I wondered whether they'd resorted to a special issue for the end of year lists etc, but no this is the Jan 2019 issue...out in November.

    Kamasi at #1?

Not heard it so can't comment on its music...but Jazzwise - UK specialist jazz magazine - which I picked up at the same time doesn't have it even in the top 20.
