Cut the crap and Earthling are truly terrible albums, their worst

  4. Hot Space – Queen
Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants – Stevie Wonder
L.A. (Light Album) – Beach Boys

Three of their respective artists high points in my opinion.

Band Of Gypsys - It is patchy because of Buddy Miles' numbers but Jimi's songs are terrific ("Machine Gun" is one of the greatest things ever recorded).
Black & Blue - my first Stones LP purchase! Love it to death.
Bluejeans And Moonbeams - not one of his best but lots to like in there for fans of the good Captain.

4 of these are in my collection, Band of Gypsies, Blue Jeans and Moonbeams, The Final Cut and Trans, but the good Captain is the only one I'd vote for.

Don’t like any of the ones on the list. Mine would be Lou Reed’s Rock And Roll Heart.

    "Islands" by the Band and
"Built to Last" by the Grateful Dead could have been added to this list.
I stayed away from them for years, my mind poisoned by the poor reviews. But eventually I got to them, and I'm glad, as it turned out I like both.

It's not even that bad of an album. My advice for those who are skeptical about it would be to just enjoy the music and don't expect a masterpiece. Angela is my favorite song off that album even if it has "bad" lyrics and Yoko singing. I also recommend the listening to the ultimate mix version.

i own two- dylan empire and lou reed raven. the raven has incredible moments, not sure it was worth a double album but i don't know what songs you would leave off. empire burlesque is let down by its production but has some really good songs

    edit: i own 4

In through the outdoor, Final cut and Trans for me. The first one mainly because of that 10 minute song with the synth sequence, that later two I love from start to finish.

A step down, admittedly, but I absolutely love In Though The Out Door, particularly for the proggy, Carouselambra.

And there’s nothing wrong with the Final Cut, either: Roger Waters finest solo album.

I voted for LA (Light Album) and Trans.

I don't get the dislike for the LA album apart from the overly long disco track. I much prefer it to Beach Boys 1985 and Still Cruisin'.

I have about half of them, but the only ones I'd say I love are BoG, B&B, Cut The Crap (their best since Rope), Earthling and Hard Nose.

Zep are probably still my fav band, just about, but I do NOT love that (almost) unmitigated pile of crap. Wish it had never happened! Way to tarnish a legacy...

There are people who don't like Band Of Gypsys?

Machine Gun is one of the best Hendrix songs, period.

In Through The Out Door is in the top half of LZ records I am most likely to listen to.

I have some on that list (on cd and on vinyl).

The only one that I would say I like is The Final Cut. In no way a good Floyd album, but I do like to listen to it and just think of it as a rock album that is pretty good.

Cut the Crap I have to complete my Clash vinyl collection, but I don't play it. It just isn't good.

I rarely play full Zeppelin albums, but In Through the Out Door has two of my favorite Zeppelin songs on it: In the Evening and All of My Love.

    I own

Band of gypsies - I guess the songs aren't fully realised in some ways, and lean towards being Jams, but they're pretty solid jams, and Machine Gun may be the greatest recorded Hendrix

Black and blue - this is a great album, and I have never understood why many don't like it.

Bluejeans and Moonbeams - not the captain's greatest album, but a much better attempt at being accessible than Unconditionally Guaranteed.... some really cool tracks on here.

Empire burlesque - I like it, but a step down from the wonderful Infidels.

Earthling - I recently got this in the Brilliant adventure box... I'm only halfway through the box, but for me it is a very good album. I much prefer it to Black Tie White Noise, Buddha Of Suburbia and Outside.

Final cut - fantastic album, and among my favourites of all time.

Hot space - I like it, don't love it.

In through the out door - a good album. A transitional album, that sadly never got to be followed up with a more fully realised transition.

Sometime in NYC - some decent tracks, but it is probably John's weakest album... it seems like he is just trying to shock people, and the political sloganeering is tiring.

Songs from the capeman - I got it with my Paul Simon album box, but I am not sure I have even listened to it, to be honest.

Wild life - I got this on the recent reissue, the 2 cd version.... I like it
