Leaving aside the absurd decision not to include closed captioning, and perhaps making the menu music too loud, I don't recall any significant flaws in the box sets.

I haven't watched the DVDs in years, wasn't there this weird colour tint on the first season. Also some episodes looked so bad, of course The Monkees in Paris was shocking on the DVDs.

I totally agree with all you said.

I still want the Blu-Ray set (and will get it "someday"), but till then, I'm very happy with the PQ of the DVDs.

"The Monkees in Paris" never looked good. I'll bet it still looks bad, even on the Blu-rays.

I found this video going between the remaster and the previous version (DVD?)

Believe it or not, I didn't notice a problem with the PQ.

Sourcing from this wonderful blu-ray release, I've upscaled it to 4K and synchronised it with remixed audio.

When new prices change according to the company selling it, how much they pay for rights, how much they want to profit and also how many disc they might be allowed to produce.

Once the brand new offerings have dried up you are left with resellers and whatever is on offer on the second hand market. Basic offer and demand economics rule. As someone said before this things you need to grab them as soon as they are out or you might pay through the nose or even worse, you might not be able to get them at any price.

One of the original DVD set has the unedited 33 1/3 special. Was it Jerry Lee Lewis that got chopped out of the Blu box? Is there anything else on the DVDs that is not on the Blu-Ray?

Is there anything on the Season 1 + 2 DVD sets and the original Head DVD that is not on the Blu-Ray box? (Besides the Jerry Lee Lewis Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin On..)

well they are on DVD and with little restoration. The BD looks miles ahead of the DVD from all the examples I've seen. I don't own the BD box just the DVD boxes...and that's all I will own as I cannot afford the BD at those snark prices...They should just release a bare bones Blu-ray box...

I sure hope they release something…
Have you been to the Monkees.com store?
Just about everything is sold out..tee shirts, etc.
It is a shame the way fans are being ignored..
Whoever is managing merch needs to be dismissed..
