Monty Python's 50th anniversary plans

Yes, it’s a region free release and depending on where you live, you will receive either a 50i or 60i release from Network, appropriate for your tv system.

Amazon US, Canada and Japan would be getting the 60i version, and the rest of the world would have the 50i.

 

Want this set but not sure I need another large box in my house

 

Network will be selling the smaller separate season sets to follow in the new year.

The big box is a limited edition.

They sent me a strange email telling me they sent out sets ,but not preorders

 

I got that too. It’s like, “Guess what? We shipped stuff! But, not yours cos’ it’s different! Aren’t you happy?!”

 

That means if you pre-ordered something else that hasn't been released yet, only your Monty Python has shipped. They worded the email strangely, it took me a moment to understand it as well.

 

Obviously Australian orders have not gone out yet

Looks good but I have a question. Was the red series divider somehow damaged on your set? The four series seem to sit loose in your box whereas in the picture provided in the pre-order site shows a red divider keeping the individual series 1 through 4 snug in the box.

 

The packaging is not up to supporting the weight of the discs - the package weight is 3 kilograms.

I think it will have been. Each of the 4 series is quite heavy. The cardboard dividers are not particularly strong. I intend to get some slimline double CD cases in which to keep the discs - then put the cardboard assembly back into its shipping box and keep everything out of harm's way.

It isn't easy to remove the discs from the slip cases. However the discs are in decent plastic trays and are in pristine condition.

 

For the price of the box, I would have contacted Network for a replacement.

I am waiting patiently for the separate season sets that Network says are coming later, and seeing that box makes me glad I am waiting.

 

Okay, so the packaging is a bit dodgy, but the discs within are fine and the material has more than stood the test of time. Thoroughly enjoyable so far.

 

Wonder when we'll get shipping notices in the U.S. and then how long it will take the Norwegian Blu-Ray to get here...

I will add that Network is horrible. Never responded to a single email of mine over the past 2 months. Great customer service over there.

I would never order from them again. Not to mention the shady business of positioning this as an exclusive set then seeing it end up on Amazon, etc.

 

I'm curious...Were your dividers damaged as well?

 

Just got it an hour ago, still in the box. I'll check it out at home later and let you know.
