It was back in Pgh, PA when I was a production assistant, and worked in master control for WDVE FM 102
and KQV AM News Radio .. I tell the entire story much earlier in the thread somewhere. It was his first solo tour in 1984
IIRC.. he was playing a show in the city. The PD had him coming in to do an pre show interview live w the DJ..
I started my shift, and there was a note from the PD telling me to cut a promo commercial station ID, etc.
No cell phones back then, no camera. I recorded, and cut the spot to radio cart back then..
Told him I had been a huge Crimson, ELP fan, etc, etc.. - One of the nicest guys ever, Signed, and talked like an hour afterward, gave me an all access world pass because I was working a 12 hour shift and couldn't go... The story is worth looking up.. autographs, laminate, and the full story... that includes a blooper tape! Greg had a slight bit of trouble the first few takes. I met his manager that afternoon too.... who is now the CEO of Capitol Records .. Unreal.

Dated April 1975, this two page signed property and funds legal agreement is currently
available on eBay from Perry Cox .. Perry has blurred the bank account numbers, visible
on the actual forms. I have seen this item around through the years, a beautiful set of rare
very clear signatures.

May 7, 1995 .. Promotional flier w a couple photos I took from the front row.
Joey Molland and Mike Gibbins together in a somewhat rare performance together.
They had split by then.. but Gibbins who lived in FL reunited for the gig.
I had met Joey a couple times, but this was the one time meeting the late Mike Gibbins.
The promo flier erroneously states that three original members would be there. Still so sad.

This has always given me a chuckle.. I love it! .. Tony seemed quite proud.

Can I ask what you mean by "It's from the photo archives" and what the connection is with expense or peril?

 

Assuming this is an honest enquiry...
"From the photo archives" is a term that generally means the collectible is not in my collection, but a unique and significant item of interest .. As far as the connection to expense, that is clearly evident due to rarity .. the perilous times statement is directly related to the banned, withdrawn violent Stones PS.. thus, my comment about nothing has changed
in fifty years looking at the current climate in the U.S and world affairs.

 

CRIME SCENE USA ~ Classic Film Noir Themes & Jazz Tracks CD
Superb CD of the original dark brooding music by some of the greatest composers in
the film noir genre. Fantastic films and wonderful, sometimes creepy 1940's and 50's
soundtracks .. Most of the epic noirs are featured, and my favorite B movies.
H.B. leads the pack.. I heartily endorse all the listed films here.

John Lennon ~ Mega RARE! Handwritten Letter From Rishikesh, India 1968
Newly discovered incredible personal letter sent by John to a fan, who was concerned about
The Beatles meditating w Maharishi .. John goes in to great depth, speaking of his Christian
faith, and much more. This note.. from a time when John had written more songs (15 for the WA) more than Paul and George combined. One of the most revealing Lennon letters ever
seen. The original letter includes the handwritten envelope addressed by John .. Amazing!

Yep me too, especially the films...
I lucked out and got it for about $9.00 on eBay a year or two ago.
Have actually seen it priced at over $300.00 in the past, which is ridiculous.

THE BEATLES ~ Pgh, PA. 1964 .. KQV 14 AM Radio Concert Poster
Sept. 14, 1964 .. Original commemorative poster sold a couple days after the '64 concert.
Though I grew up in L.A. and have ranted about missing the Fabs at the Hollywood Bowl before.. In a twist of fate, my family moved to Pittsburgh in 1968, and some 19 years after the concert, I would find myself working at KQV Radio during a college internship in 1983 .. In the 1960's they were the big AM Radio top 40 rock station, they later changed to an all news format.
