It's not "05403" but R5493 - the Parlophone catalogue number of the Yellow Submarine/Eleanor Rigby UK single.

Which probably makes the badge a promo item for the single?

  2. Bruce - haven't got round to doing this before but just want to say a huge thankyou to you for starting this thread and keeping it going and for putting so much time and effort into sharing your collection with us so generously.

It's akin to having free unlimited access to a private gallery - it's hugely appreciated. I bet there are some fascinating stories behind the collecting of it too!

    Best Wishes,
    David

Yes, probably so... Just find it fascinating that Ringo and George chose to wear them for the Sgt. Pepper's release party (?) ... as I noted the ''0's'' are hard to decipher from a ''9'', as was the ''1'' which turned out to be a ''4'', this is due to the crimping/tucking of the badge cover material under the back part. When I put in the full printed info using ''05403'' it was close enough to bring pages of the U.K. '66 single.
This thing is as interesting as when I first laid eyes on it! Appreciate the reply.

Thanks very much David, really nice of you to say...
Glad you get a kick out of the stuff too.
I had so hoped that more people would join in, consider sharing something if you like.

I think we're all guilty of reading into things that sometimes aren't there (not a criticism by the way, it is fascinating). The badges may have simply been lying around Brian Epstein's place and they thought it would be fun to wear them? See, I'm doing it now!

The Rolling Stones - "Their Satanic Majesties Request" 3-D lenticular LP
We all know how The Beatles gave a shout out to their friends on the front cover of SPLHCB,
with the doll "Welcome The Rolling Stones". Six months later when the Stones released this
LP they also paid homage to The Beatles... with their four head shots hiding in a swirl of
    summer of love psychedelia.

I'm not doubting you, but how do you know? And do you know who else was on the bill?

Because I’ve been a big Dylan fan and collector for over 30 years, and these photos are well known. Type “Bob Dylan Friends of Chile” into Google Images and see many more examples from the same concert.

The gig was taped. See here for details:

It's the same image but this one feels like a dry erase marker board, not a paper poster.

Yoko Ono Art Works Exhibit at The Frankel Collection - Palm Beach. FL.
Very high security at this invitation only Worth Ave, Palm Beach opening of Yoko's art.
I was luckily good friends with the owner Ken Frankel, long time friend of the Lennon's,
going back to John's Bag One art prints in 1968. Still have the intro pin badge .. Ken was
a great friend to me, he would tell me stories for hours, loved seeing my new things. When I
returned the day after the opening to personally thank him again, he said "Did you see the
newspaper ?" I said, "No what paper ?" and he pointed to a stack on a glass table. I freaked out!
Then he got up and went to a back room, and came out with a personally signed exhibit poster
from the show from Yoko. An awesome night... but I felt rather uncomfortable with all those
    PB elites.
