In 2014, John Lennon’s 1962 Gibson J160e guitar, once thought lost, was discovered in San Diego at Marc Intravaia’s Sorrento Valley Sanctuary Art and Music Studio. The following year, it went up for one of the most publicized auctions in Beatles history.

like a needle in a haystack that's a really cool story...from 1969 until 2014 with no idea...remarkable that it pretty much stayed the same too.

Slick looks very much like one i acquired at auction a few years ago, but i don’t recall if mine had the color bars at top. I mounted it to the image itself.

Mine has a very “dirty” bar code block, almost like it had been faxed and pasted in. While it is “ authenticated” as a legit proof, i’m not certain whether it is an original WB proof, or a proof from the production of one of the two different bootleg editions.

Is the bar code image on this example low-res and grainy?

And yes, the entire set of collateral from this V1 is pretty damn cool - wouldn’t this make a totally awesome RSD release, w original cover, inner sleeve and labels?

(FTR, I have zero expectation that the estate would do anything this cool, but rather continue their miserly approach to bonus material.)

I do have all of Adrian Belew's albums but here are the ones I have that are signed by him (some are signed inside instead of the front cover).

Not earthshattering at all compared to some things posted here but fun for me.

The printing is very clear and legible. The barcode is clear with no blurring or cloudiness. These original first proof slicks are extremely rare. No more than four or five are known to exist. This example has no edge wear, no wrinkling, or wave.. absolutely flat, NM. I had it archive framed about fifteen years ago. The original W.B. acetate was obtained many years after.

If you have any photos of the LP slick, I would like to check them out.. ?
Do you have a copy of the bootleg ''SIE'' LP ?
I think I might have seen one way back, but had pretty much stopped buying boots around that time.

 

I wish... it's not even playing in my State.
It plays at the Gene Siskel Theatre for you!
It's so bizarre how they only offer a ONE NIGHT showing of the best stuff.
Same with The Beatles H.B. etc.. and the ridiculous, limited showings.
I find it hard to believe that they would not make money showing them
for a weeks run.. Rant, bitch.. rant!

I miss so much not being in/near NYC, Chicago, or L.A.
for the art, music, and all the numerous museum exhibits.
