Bob Dylan ~ NYC Public School Book .. Bob
Wonder what the book actually is ? .. All we do know is Bob Dylan
signed it out from a Brooklyn, NY public library. He also.. has written out
the words to ''Donald White'' w/ doodling on the entire right side. The writing is consistent
with examples from the period 1961 -'62 .. though the book is undated, photo archives.

Sorry for the delay. I purchased some fruit trees and needed to get them planted in the side garden at the recently re-named "Percyville Ranch"... :righton:

So, where were we? Ah, yes, Bruce sent me this carrier bag...

Now, take a nostalgia trip back to Post #68 and Post #69 on Page 3 of this very thread in October 2017.

Bruce attended both KC shows in Atlanta on 23 and 24 October 2017. What he didn't tell you, or show you, was that he got another Tour Program signed by the eight band members:-

In an act of extreme generosity - and I truly mean extreme generosity - The Brucester, as he is known here at the Ranch, thought it would make a fitting house-warming gift for me and JoJo. Yes folks, it's true, upon opening that carrier bag I was rendered virtually speechless for several hours. I mean, noises came out of my mouth but they weren't recognisable as any sort of dialect.

It's a treasure and it will be treasured...

I'll probably bore you all silly with more photos over the coming days, but in the meantime, here is a clip from the end of the show on the 24th. Bruce will be right at the front - he may be able to be more specific about his position...

    :love::love::love:

"Just A Little Glass of Water" = "She's Your Lover Now". The session for this song on "The Cutting Edge Collector's Edition" is alone worth the price of the set. An example of management by telepathy resulting in the train hitting the buffers. Pain sure brings out the best in people, doesn't it? :D

I'm still kicking myself for passing up a stock copy of "My Bonnie" on Decca in 1987.

This guy comes in with a 45 single wrapped up in a paper towel giving me a pitch like a used car salesman about this "extremely rare record only 100 were pressed" and kept going on so I asked to see the record, he opens the paper towel so show a VG- 45 stock copy of My Bonnie by Tony Sheridan and The Beat Brothers on Decca.

The guy is giving more spiel about it's rarity, then I say the word "how much?" then he tells me "well I seen copies of this sell up to $2500 but for you, $500."
There is a fair amount of label wear and scuffs, a strong VG- at best. I wasn't about to fork over money for a single that he wouldn't let me handle and examine, he just kept holding it up to my face so I talk him down to $300 due to the condition issues, then the says "good bye" then wraps the 45 back in the paper towel and leaves. Oh well.

A mint copy sold for $5,675 in 2006, another one (bottom) sold for $64 in 2017 which I think is a repro/fake. Pink label promos go for $50-300.

There's my "passing up a rare Beatles record" story.

    Mine is a regulation 7"....

I'd better not tell JoJo that you have an 8" one in case she gets jealous. Mind you, she's always maintained these last 38 years that size doesn't matter.....:D

Really enjoyed looking at the Donovan stuff last weekend, posted by @donohed and @stepeanut ...

My sister joined the Donovan fan club in 1965, and from 1965 to 1968, she bought all the LPs, all the EPs and all the singles - mono, of course. "A Gift From A Flower To A Garden" was the last album she purchased. It was a 2xLP set in a sumptuous box which also contained a folio of illustrated lyric sheets for the 12 songs on the second record, "For Little Ones". The folio was found, a little dusty, behind a bookcase in a bedroom when the family house was sold a few years ago.

A while ago @Maranatha5585 posted a video of Pete Sinfield and Ian McDonald talking about the genesis of "In The Court of the Crimson King". Ian mentions the early version being a folky Donovan-esque style (The Bobster was also mention as an influence by both...)

I mean, you can imagine Fripp & Co giving this the KC treatment. Can't you?

And, of course, they did cover a Donovan song in 1969....
