This 12" x 12" promo flat is probably my favourite...

Bob Dylan: 1997 12" x 12" light card record store promo flat for "Time Out Of Mind" and forthcoming UK dates.

Between the production of this flat and the brief visit to the UK a fourth date was added - 02 October at Bournemouth.

With the outstanding "Time Out Of Mind" just a couple of days old and punters eager to hear the new songs in live performance for the first time, Bob played lots of old songs.... :D

At least "Love Sick" did receive its live debut at the first Bournemouth show and it was played at all four shows as the penultimate song of the encore. "'Till I Fell In Love With You" and "Standing In The Doorway" were apparently options on the cue sheets for Bournemouth 2 and Cardiff respectively but he elected not to play them.

The only one of those shows I saw was Cardiff, but it was a good ’un.

Over the years, I’ve seen him perform every track from Time Out of Mind live, except for “Dirt Road Blues”, which he’s never done.

Such as shame he chose to play in that horrendous concrete box that is Wembley Arena.

I've seen just one, but it was a beauty, despite being in a 6,000 seat arena:-

I was at that Newcastle show, also.

He played “Delia” and “Man of Peace” that night. Great show.

It was. I probably told the story in more detail earlier, but Polly, aged 15 and our faithful companion since 1987, died that day and I wasn't much in the mood come the evening. JoJo, pragmatic as ever, said through both our tears, "Polly's gone, nothing we can do now, let's just go..." Petrol stations across the country had had no petrol for a week or more because of a tanker driver's strike; they were replenished in our area on the day before the gig. There was a massive thunderstorm in the evening as we arrived at the venue. Soaked!

Sorry to hear about Polly

    I remember well.

I had hired a car in order to do the first four U.K. dates — Aberdeen through Birmingham — but I wasn’t sure if a full tank would do the job. The strike finished just in time.

After the Newcastle show, I drove to my friend’s home in Knutsford, Cheshire, as we planned to go to the Birmingham show together. The drive took an age. I could barely see more than a few feet in front of me, due to the rain lashing against the windscreen.

Still, not the worst weather I’ve driven in after a gig. If you’ve not heard it before, ask me about my drive from Atlanta to New Orleans, after seeing Beth Orton in 2002.

Question on the audio discs sleeve. Is “thread cut” the same thing as “chip” that I read about somewhere else? Is that the thread of material that is removed during the manufacturing process?

And does this thread cut or chip (assuming it is the same thing) only occur during the making of a master record?

Mass produced vinyl is “stamped” ..not “cut” correct?

Sorry for the brief conversation detour. I just found this thread and I was looking at all the amazing memorabilia and stumbled across this photo and it sparked the question...

Derek Slazenger Specs, rugs & rock n roll

A 'bookmark' signed by Marijke, Simon and Barry of 'The Fool' art collective. This was with a folder of photos from the Sgt.Pepper sessions (I think from memory they were all taken on the day that the 'A Day In The Life' footage was shot). 'Tracks' published it as a ltd edition years ago and I thought it was cool :)

Thanks buddy :) I wouldn't be surprised if Tracks still have a couple of these lying about the place if you want one? It wasn't expensive :)
