Dr. Ralph Stanley signed CD cover, Ralph Stanley was the first artist I saw in Tuscaloosa when
I was transferred to AL. Mavis Staples played at the same time across the park at the out door festival.

The Beatles ~ "Again" .. Promotional Poster
U.S. This is an item that IIRC I saw one time only nearly 45 years ago.
Perry Cox has just listed it, he believes it's one of the rarest Beatles promotional
posters ever made.. he goes on to explain it as a "pre-promotional'' poster for the
Beatles "Hey Jude" (Beatles Again) album - produced at the local level.. by a distributor
called One Stop, or Super stop.. Poster measures 22'' x 16'', and has the discography
on the reverse side, folded from the distributor... there is the Capitol logo at the bottom.
Personally, I can absolutely think of at least six mid 60's Capitol promo posters I
feel are much rarer and desirable. Non the less, it's wild seeing something from a
time that harkens far back to the starting point of my collecting years.

The Beatles ~ Hey Jude (AGAIN) LP w/ Promotional Hype Sticker
U.S. Beautiful original copy with the large promo "HEY JUDE" hype sticker on
the front cover. A stunning copy, that I added to my collection some years back.
Crazy thing, I remember maybe two-three years before I started seriously collecting
I used to hang at the National Record Mart at the mall in Pittsburgh.. I was always a
Beatles fan but things were not NM, or in plastic, etc. I remember looking at the U.K.
"Let It Be" boxed set, and then this LP on the store shelves all with the hype sticker.
It would be years later that I actually got one. But I was 15 then.. Old man! :p

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

Well friends it's almost time to eat here.. YES! :righton:
That means I get to have my yearly Thanksgiving meal using John & Cynthia Lennon's
silverware from Kenwood! - Purchased personally by them at Harrods as a wedding gift.
Used by them until 1968.. sometimes I try an imagine who all has eaten with these utensils.

    Blessed. God is good.

    Congratulations to @oboogie! :righton:

Buddy, you've got the signed Daniel Lanois CD coming to your mailbox.
This is his wonderful debut album, and I hope that you'll enjoy it.
Known for his skills as producer, and the list of amazing artists who choose him.
Lanois is also a talented musician and guitarist, and one of nicest guys out there.

Thank you Rufe for your friendship, and for uplifting little Bella.
    Enjoy my friend! :)

Probably a crap shoot.. maybe keep it sealed depending on what the buzz is.
Man, what about the possible 50th LP box set ?
Absolutely love George.. but I must say, I'm still kinda remembering the fiasco I, and many
others went through on the deluxe "Concert for George" box.

Indeed it does, the concern is the possibility of them using GZ on the LP pressings. :tsk:

Robert Fripp ~ Music For Quiet Moments #31
    "Strong Quiet II"

"Quiet moments are when we put time aside to be quiet. Sometimes quiet moments find us. Quiet may be experienced with sound, and also through sound; in a place we hold to be sacred, or maybe on a crowded subway train hurtling towards Piccadilly or Times Square. Quiet Moments of my musical life, expressed in Soundscapes, are deeply personal; yet utterly impersonal: they address the concerns we share within our common humanity." Robert Fripp

THE BEATLES ~ "I Am The Walrus" 45 / PS
U.S. Capitol Records .. Celebrating the original American release today!
Easily one of my top favorite Beatles songs and PS's :righton: .. I remember
a friend and I playing it endlessly. A few years older, he explained the
cannabis references and everybody's f-ed up, etc.. to me.
Johns acid drenched psychedelic masterpiece the way I see it, he said
he wrote it to confound the fans. He certainly succeeded 53 years ago
    today!

I just found out that GZ is a vinyl pressing plant. I thought it might be a new term for a compression tool, or something!

I'll tell you what. No matter how bad GZ might be they can't be worse than the clowns who produced my RSD "Blood on the Tracks" Test Pressing last year. The replacement was just as bad as the original. I mean, you'd think that if they are willing and able to send replacements that the replacements would be QC checked and perfect....

    A message from Tori Amos:-

Today I released the first track from 'Christmastide'.

With ‘Better Angels’, I wanted to acknowledge the year we have all been through and know that there is hope. We can find that hope within ourselves if we continue to focus our collective minds and souls. We are slowly starting to find a clearer path to transform together for the better of all.

Watch the beautiful lyric video for 'Better Angels', that brings Christmastide to life below.

I can't say the song thrills me, but I'm looking forward to receiving the signed "Christmastide" 12" EP in about 10 days time. (Although now I'm worried it'll be pressed by GZ...)

Amorphous Androgynous & Peter Hammill ~ "We Persuade Ourselves We Are Immortal''
THE Amorphous Androgynous unite with Van Der Graaf Generator vocalist Peter Hammill for 41 minute progtronic symphony ''We Persuade Ourselves We Are Immortal'' in 6 parts . Featuring Paul Weller on piano and acoustic , the Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir , 25 piece strings and all manner of instrumentation from harp to a plethora of vintage synth alongside sax by Brian Hopper ( Caravan / Soft Machine ) and lead guitar by Ray Fenwick ( Spencer Davis Group / Ian Gillan Band ) all set within the AA’s trademark sonic twist and samplerdelia .

WOW!! I am totally clueless apparently... I had never even heard of this band till tonight.
The album is only out one week - But they've been around for years. Always dug Van Der
Graff Generator since the early 70's when Fripp played guitar on their early LP's. I bought
the download on the strength of the :53 second uTube clip I happened on tonight.. Amazing! Listening first time to it through right now. Love it so far, looks like I'll be checking their
older work out for quite awhile. What a trip this stuff is! What a line up of musicians on
this new release. Paul Weller plays on the whole album, and well, Peter Hammill is great too.
Very prog fusion electronica space type.. heck, I don't even know what they call it. I call it great! :righton:
