Most expensive target ever potential, single disc overall?

I voted no, but as someone who has a copy I am very intrigued.

I had to check mine! It's an inversion of what I suppose are the normal WG colours of a dark lilac background and green target markings. Interesting.

 

There must be a crazy U2 fan involved.

I had no idea people were willing to pay this kind of cash for a CD like this, or any CD for that matter.

 

Doesn't matter... it's not like the winning bidder is ever going to play this disc.

 

What's so special about this U2 target aside from its rarity? Does it sound better than every other CD reissue?

 

Nothing special. Rarity is the attraction, I'm afraid.

I would! Crud, I check discs that cost me $2 to make sure they're not defective - I'd certainly want to play a $1200 one to check for problems!

Though that begs the question: does anyone who pays big bucks for this disc really care if it doesn't play correctly? While I understand that we collectors buy a lot of discs "for the paint", I still suspect we want them to WORK!

 

Unfortunately, Ralph's site has not been updated in a long time. A number of variations have been discovered since the last update.

 

I wonder if Ralph has this copy?
