I saw this, saw I rated it a 5/10, but don't remember much about it... I actually first thought of "Todo Modo" which was also pretty unique, but not too great.

Fire on the Amazon starring Sandra Bullock. The photography and storyline make it a very unique movie.

I’ll second Napoleon Dynamite. It’s warped humor can only be approached
by Better off Dead (1985). If you love quirky and unforgettable characters see both these movies - and then watch Fargo. Would make for a great night’s entertainment when your amp’s in the shop.

I couldn’t make it through the first 5 minutes of Napoleon Dynamite.

I also saw it on its first run, and that movie did a number on me. I still can't bring myself to watch it again.

Apropos of probably nothing, I looked up Anthony Edwards’ recent activity/updates .. and saw that he and Mare Winningham have been a couple since ‘20.

Yes! I enjoyed this movie so much I went out and purchased the entire Jacque Tati, Criterion box set. Playtime gets better every time I watch it.

I'd forgotten about Slaughterhouse Five. That was definitely a unique movie. Well done.

I watched Slaughterhouse Five last week for the first time in 35 years. Still plays well today.

    + 1 with Playtime.

Is the BFI box the best version of Playtime.

Also ..Jour De Fete: is there a b&w version ?

I can’t remember which version is in the box. But Wikipedia does list a black and white release.

It ends on a scene that's very upsetting because the horrifying stunt looked impossible.

The Hippopotamus (A really clever British black comedy. Excellent dialogue.)

Willy's Wonderland (Nick Cage...that says it all!)

Probably 'Koyaanisqatsi', a poetic and at times exhilarating combination of dramatic footage and Philip Glass's score.
